MONTGOMERY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a robbery and made an arrest.
Just after 9p.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to a reported theft near 16th and Maple in the city of Independence, according to a media release.
The victim reported his electric bike was stolen by a naked man and identified the suspect as 33-year-old Shane May of Independence. to police. Dispatch immediately began receiving other reports of a naked man running around the 10th and Myrtle area.
Officers located the nude man and May refused to surrender. He ran into oncoming traffic and jumped on the side of a slowing vehicle. At this time officers were able to grab May and physically subdue him. May was taken into custody without serious injury to himself or the officers.
May is being held on requested charges of aggravated robbery, interference with law enforcement officers, and disorderly conduct.
