
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating the fatal weekend shooting of 32-year-old Shakeita Young, 32, in Topeka on Saturday have arrested 31-year-old Kajun D. Brock, according to Topeka Police Lt. Shane Hilton.
On Wednesday, police asked the public for help to locate Brock. The United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force located him in Topeka on Wednesday evening.
Police booked Brock into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on the following charges and requested charges of Murder in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

Brock is a person of interest in the Saturday morning homicide, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

Just after 5 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the 1800 block of NE Burgess Court in Topeka in reference to a shooting, according to Lt. Shane Hilton.

First responders found Young suffering from a gunshot. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Brock has ties to Topeka and Wichita.
