ELLSWORTH COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 4p.m. Wednesday in Ellsworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Freightliner semi driven by Curtis D. Birt, 63, Shawnee, was westbound on Interstate 70 just west of Kansas 156.
The semi left the roadway into the north embankment, continued westbound and overturned on the passenger side.
Birt was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
