SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities including the FBI and KBI are investigating a bank robbery and fatal officer-involved shooting.

Just after 3:30p.m. Monday, a suspect entered the Golden Plains Credit Union, 9555 East Corporate Hills Drive in Wichita, according to police Captain Wendell Nicholson.

The suspect demanded money and it was given to him. He fled in a truck that was later determined to be stolen.

At the intersection of 13th and Webb Road, the suspect vehicle struck two citizen vehicles and two police cars. An officer fired shots at the suspect. When EMS arrived on the scene, they pronounced the suspect dead.

The citizens involved in the crash had minor injuries, according to Nicholson. He did not have details on whether they were transported for treatment. He released no additional details including the suspect's name.
