According to court records, Kansas City police responded to a shooting in south Kansas City on July 14, 2023, and located the victim deceased in the backyard of a residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Surveillance footage captured a man, later identified as Al-Amin holding a firearm extended outward as he moved along a driveway toward the rear of the residence. Two gunshots are audible as he exits the frame.
Detectives allege that that Al-Amin forced a witness at gunpoint to drive him to the residence where the victim was located.
