Kan. woman dead, 4 hospitalized after crash

DOUGLAS COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 9:30p.m. Thursday in Douglas County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Nissan Rogue  driven by Sara N. Shamblin, 25, Scranton, Kansas, was southbound on E550 Road. The driver  ran the stop sign at the intersection at U.S. 56.

The Nissan struck a westbound 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Timothy W. Cambron, 36, Scranton, in the passenger side. The impact caused Jeep to leave the roadway to the left and roll onto its roof. The Nissan spun around and rolled into the ditch landing on its roof

Shamblin was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics.

Two passengers in the Nissan Dakota L Comstock, 19, and  7-weeks-old Morgan Comstock both of Scranton were transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. EMS transported a third passenger in the Nissan, Autumn Comstock, 17,  Scranton, to Stormont Vail in Topeka.

EMS transported Cambron to KU Medical Center. The KHP did not have complete seat belt usage information. Morgan Comstock was restrained in an infant seat and not injured, according to the KHP.
