SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting and have made an arrest.

Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting at a home in the 1100 block of West 55th Street South in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.  Upon arrival, officers contacted a 40-year-old woman who had a minor injury to her left arm.

The investigation revealed the victim was walking her dog in a field near residences.  She got into a verbal argument with 19-year-old Tayveon Franklin and during the argument, he shot a pellet gun toward her and struck her arm.

Police contacted Franklin at his home and arrested him without incident on requested charges of aggravated battery, according to Davidson.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
