WASHINGTON — The United State's House of Representatives  voted Monday afternoon to increase COVID-19 relief checks to $2,000, meeting President Donald Trump’s demand for bigger payments.

Two members of the Kansas delegation went against the President and against more spending than $600.

First District Representative Roger Marshall and Representative Ron Estes voted no to the Democrat led effort that passed 275-134 for the additional assistance.

Kansas third district representative Sharice Davids voted with the democrats while outgoing Representative Steve Watkins did not vote.

Senators are set to return to session Tuesday to consider the measure.

There is no indication what Kansas Senators Pat Roberts and Jerry Moran will do.
