SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a burglary and have a suspect in custody.
Just after 12:15 a.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a business burglary to the Relax Inn located, 1224 SW Wanamaker in Topeka, according to LT Kelvin Johnson,
Officers arrived on scene and set up a perimeter. While conducting a search of the business, officers located a subject who was hiding in a storage closet.
Police arrested Kenneth Swopes, 50 of Topeka, and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Burglary, Criminal Damage and Theft.
