CLAY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating after a couple who was fishing located a body in the Missouri River on Wednesday night, according to a statement from the Clay County, Missouri Sheriff’s Office.
Just after 8:30p.m. the couple called 911 and reported seeing a body in the water near 210 Highway and Edwards Road.
When deputies arrived, they found the body of a man on the north side of the river. The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Water Patrol Division assisted with recovering the man’s body.
Due to the state of the body, detectives have not yet been able to determine the man’s identity.
