2 hospitalized after helicopter crash in Kansas wheat field

PRATT COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 2p.m. Sunday in Pratt County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1972 Bell 206B Helicopter piloted by Nathaniel Taylor Brown, 38, Georgetown, Kansas, was starting to land when it ran out of fuel and the engine to shut off. The helicopter came to rest in a wheat field near SW 50th Avenue and SW 10th Street or five miles southwest of Pratt.

EMS transported Brown and a passenger Andrei  Cherushnikov, 36, Renton, Washington, to Pratt Regional Medical Center.
