Christmas decorations go up downtown

Approximately 100 members of 1st Infantry Division Artillery performed a good deed in downtown Junction City Monday. They helped put up Christmas decorations on North Washington and West 6th Street. ( Photos courtesy of Phyllis Fitzgerald )

Command Sgt. Maj. Ricky Jackson said the troops wanted to volunteer and help Society of the 1st Infantry Division Director Phyllis Fitzgerald and the " City of Junction City set up the garlands and lights on the poles ( street lights ) to light up the city for the holidays."

Colonel Richard Ikena said the headquarters of Division Artillery volunteered with the 1st Infantry Division Society to help with the decorations for Main Street in Junction City. "We've got a great partnership with Junction City. We appreciate everything the community does for us. So this is just a little way for us to give back."
