Eagle Radio — including 107.9 FM, 1420 KJCK AM and JC Post in Junction City — recently opened new studios at 222 West Sixth Street. They relocated to the downtown area from their former longtime home at 1039 Southwind Drive.
General Manager Jason Schlitz emphasized the move is a testament to the station’s commitment to Junction City.
“We are doubling down on downtown.” he said. “We are not only in the center of the action but being in the same building as the Chamber and the CVB allows us an amazing opportunity to coordinate promotion of tourism, economic development, military affairs, downtown revitalization, and the overall community more closely than ever.
“The space also allows us the room to expand staff including a spot for a reporter from WIBW as part of a new content sharing program across the Eagle radio stations and Post sites.”
Schlitz also added that as the COVID situation lessens, plans are in the works for a public open house and that all four of the Eagle stations — 107.9 FM, 1420 KJCK AM, Power Hits 97.5 FM, Q-Country 103.5 FM, and 92.7FM / 103.5 HD2 FM The X — will be broadcasting live from the location as well.

Over the many years, including as far back as 1949 for KJCK AM , the media outlets have worked to serve the community.
"We never cease to be amazed at the generosity of our Junction City and Geary County listeners. It's been amazing, the support that they give to the community in times of need," Jerry Brecheisen, Program Director said. "The future is bright for 107.9 FM / 1420 KJCK and JC Post in this great community."
107.9 FM / 1420 KJCK air a mix of '70s, '80s and '90s music with local news, weather and sports including the Junction City Blue Jays and Lady Jays, Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
