Pilot avoids injury after accident during landing at Kansas airport

BROWN COUNTY —A pilot avoided injured after a small plane accident just before 4:30p.m. Wednesday in Brown County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1967 Piper Arrow Aircraft piloted by James L.  Vacracos, 57, Saint John, Indiana, was attempting to land on the runway at Sabetha Municipal Airport.

The front landing gear collapsed causing the airplane to collide off the runway.

 Vacracos was not injured. The FAA and NTSB will investigate.
