LYON COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just after 7p.m. Thursday in Lyon County.
A 1996 Saturn S driven by 42-year-old Douglas Cunningham of Reading was eastbound in the 2000 Block of Road 170, according to the Sheriff's Department.
The vehicle left the road and struck a concrete culvert. Cunningham was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the sheriff's department.
The Emporia, Lyon County Fire and EMS along with the Hartford Fire Department assisted sheriff's deputies at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
