Schools locked down during SW Kan. shooting investigation

FINNEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting in Garden City and asking the public for help with information.

Just after 1p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the area of 300 Davis Street in Garden City in reference to multiple reports of gun shots heard in the area, according to Sgt. Lana Urteaga.

Schools in the immediate area were placed into lock down as a precautionary measure. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of the crime.
