Deputies work two accidents in Geary County

The Geary County Sheriff's Department reported that Deputies responded to a pair of accidents in the five o'clock hour Thursday afternoon.

In one at 5:58 p.m. they went to U.S. 77, mile marker 167, for a single vehicle vs. deer accident. Mark Wendelken, Clay Center, was driving north on U.S. 77 when a deer entered the roadway. There was heavy front end damage to the vehicle and minor injuries were reported.

In the other adccident at 5:03 p.m. Deputies responded to the K-17 Bypass, mile marker 177, for a two vehicle non-injury accident. Wayne DeLong, Maple Hill, was driving his Chevrolet Cobalt and navigating a left turn onto I-70. Kevin Ascher, Milford, was driving his Toyota Camry onto the K-18 Bypass from Clarks Creek Road and his vehicle was hit from behind by the vehicle driven by DeLong. There were no injuries reported.
