Brigade named Mid Plains League Organization of the Year

The Junction City Brigade had a championship season in 2019 as they captured their second consecutive Mid Plains League title. During the club's annual meeting Thursday evening team officials were presented with the Organization of the Year award for the league.

Board member Jeff Underhill provided numbers on the 2019 season. Attendance at games at Rathert Field totaled 4,721 and game day revenue was calculated at $29,935. Staff payroll payments totaled $22,472.

The total sales tax from purchases equaled $19,780. The Club spent $1,992 with a local insurance company and donations to service organizations totaled #2,536.

Four percent of those who attend Brigade games at Rathert Field come from more than 40 miles away. There were 189 overnight stays in the community and the total amount spent on lodging and items such as food was figured at $22,899.

Total economic impact was calculated at $82,540. Factoring in multipliers the Brigade impact was $412,700.
