Just ahead of the 2019-2020 high school basketball season the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association has released their preseason rankings.
In Class 6A Girls Topeka High is ranked first, Olathe South second and Washburn Rural third. In boys Class 6A the top three teams are Blue Valley Northwest, Haysville Campus and Wichita Southeast.
A check of area teams in the rankings on the boys side include Abilene seventh and Chapman ninth in Class 4A and Riley County fifth in Class 3A. Washburn Rural of the Centennial League is ranked
eighth in Class 6A.
In the girls rankings Clay Center is ranked tenth in Class 4A while Rural Vista is number five in Class 1A.
