The Salvation Army plans to have bell ringers stationed outside Dillons, the Walmart Supercenter, and the Neighborhood Walmart in Junction City this holiday season. Volunteer Coordinator Jeff Efford said the money raised from bell ringers provides funds for utility payments, provisions for the homeless, rehabilitation services and disaster relief.
Efford said they need to have the bell ringer positions filled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for 21 days. "So we are in desperate need of bell ringers here in Junction City." To volunteer call 785-375-5280.
Efford noted volunteers are asked to take a two-hour shift, but that is not required. "Any amount of time that you want to donate would be a blessing."
The Salvation Army serves more than 25-million people per year across the United States.
