Elementary schools combine efforts to raise food for Wheels of Hope

Lincoln and Sheridan Elementary Schools in Junction City participated in a food donation challenge. With the leadership f the Student Council from both schools, the food competition ended up with donations from Lincoln Elementary students totaling 2,515 items and from Sheridan Elementary students 2,119 items.


The challenge arose out of the USD 475 Halloween Food Drive in October. Other schools who participated in that food drive included Eisenhower, Franklin, Washington, Milford, Grandview, Westwood, Ware, Seitz, Spring Valley and Morris Hill Elementary Schools plus Junction City and Fort Riley Middle Schools.


Wheels of Hope officials stated they appreciate all that the school district leadership, teachers and students do to support the distributions to students in the district who are in need of supplemental food each month.
