Police identify Kansas man who died in railroad accident

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Authorities are investigating a fatal accident at a rail yard in Kansas and have identified the victim.


Just after 6p.m. Tuesday, police responded to an individual stuck under a train at the Union Pacific Facility in the 2600 Block of North New York in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

First responders found 46-year-old Steven Seidl of McPherson, with critical injuries.


He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators learned Seidl was working with a crew moving train cars for loading at the time of the accident.
