The Geary County Sheriff's Department and Junction City Police Department are investigating a dual fatality at the Corps of Engineers Gathering Pond below the Milford Lake Dam.
According to Capt. David Gilbert of the Sheriff's Department, at approximately 10:02 p.m. Thursday the JCPD responded to an address in Junction City for a violation of a protection order complaint and possible kidnapping. Officers were informed that a subject, identified as Zachary Lima, 27, had entered the residence and forced a second subject, identified as Christopher Young, 24, out of the residence at gunpoint.
The Sheriff's Department, acting on information responded to the Milford Lake area where both men were discovered deceased. The S-O confirmed that the case is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide.
This is a joint investigation with the JCPD and military law enforcement.
