Reward increased for information in Kansas homicide investigation

TOPEKA– Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicide and now a reward is being offered for information in the case, according to a media release. 

The family of John Waller has given Shawnee County Crime Stoppers $20,000 to be used for a reward leading to the arrest of a suspect in his death.

Police found Waller’s body on June 17, 2019 at 9:44 a.m. inside a residence in the 700 block of SW Wayne in Topeka. It is believed Waller was killed between June 3 and June 4.

In addition to the $20,000 reward, Shawnee County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

“We have seen enhanced rewards work in other communities across the country, including just up the road in Kansas City,” said Shawnee County Crime Stoppers President Angel Romero. “We are grateful to the Waller family for reaching out to provide these funds for an enhanced reward in this case.”
