New members are being sought for the Food Policy Council

The Food Policy Council in Junction City identifies the benefits, challenges and opportunities for a successful sustainable local food system. The Council supports the residents of Junction City, works to increase access to quality food, address hunger and food insecurity, influence policy and decision making and to ensure an environmentally sustainable food system.

New members are needed to serve on the Council. If you are interested email [email protected] by Friday, Jan. 17 with a brief bio, why you would like to be a member, and what sector you would represent on the Council. Those can range from community at large to farming, senior citizens, at-risk populations, education, food retail and health professional.

The Food Policy Council members are appointed by the Junction City Commission. Appointments will be recommended to the City by the Live Well Geary County Coalition. You must be able to attend a daytime monthly meeting.
