BARTON COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged distribution of meth.
Just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Escape driven by Candace D. Johnson, age 44 of Great Bend in the 2200 block of 12th St. in Great Bend, according to a media release.
Sheriff’s Office K9 Maxx was at the scene and indicated the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle. Sheriff’s deputies discovered methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Johnson was transported to the Barton County Jail without incident. She was booked on requested charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. Johnson is being held in lieu of a $300,000 bond.
Johnson had previously been arrested in “Operation Snowplow” in 2018. She has three previous drug convictions, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
