Police arrest felon for series of Kan. armed robberies

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of armed robberies and have a suspect in custody.

On January 11, 20 and 23, police responded to three separate armed robberies at All Out Detox, 3303 South Seneca;  Jump Start, 1141 East 37th Street and Dominos Pizza, 4734 South Broadway all in Wichita,  according to officer Charley Davidson.

In each instance, employee told police an unknown suspected entered the business, pointed a gun and demanded money. The suspect took cash and fled in a dark colored van.

Through the investigation, police determined 39-year-old Jacob York was involved. Police located him on Monday in the 700 Block of North Anna in Wichita. They arrested him without incident, according to Davidson.

He is being held on requested charges of aggravated robbery, drug paraphernalia charges and various traffic violations, according to online jail records. He has previous convictions for aggravated robbery, attempted robbery, aggravated assault and criminal threat, according to Davidson.
