Winter soccer program is under way

Milford Parks and Recreation has begun their winter Futsal program, which is indoor soccer played on a basketball court.  They have fielded one K through second grade team, two third grade through fifth grade teams and three sixth through eighth grade team.

K-2 and 3-5 teams will play their games on Fort Riley and had their first set of games this past Saturday, winning all three matches.

The 6-8 grade teams will not have any competition outside of their own players since no other teams were formed, but will be playing on Saturdays at the HD Karns gymnasium.

If you are interested in the future of Junction City High School soccer you can watch the 6th through 8th grade teams play from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays at HD Karns.

K-State Football Coaching Clinic set for April 4

Kansas State football will host their annual coaching clinic at the Vanier Family Football Complex and Bill Snyder Family Stadium on April 4.

This will be open to all high school, community college, NAIA, NCAA Division Two or Three coaches, and well as junior high and youth coaches. The clinic will provide participants an opportunity to observe a Wildcat team practice in addition to breakout sessions and drill demonstrations by the entire coaching staff including head coach Chris Klieman.

Registration is $30 per coach if completed on or before March 25 and $40 per coach thereafter. The clinic will run from approximately 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
