He had no idea it was coming but when 107.9 / 1420 KJCK AM air personality Mark Ediger walked into La Fiesta Restaurant in Junction City Friday evening with his wife Avis, he received quite a surprise. He was greeted by his two sons, brothers and sister, additional family members, KJCK staff, Eagle Radio CEO Gary Shorman, and business acquaintances. The occasion was a retirement party.

Mark Ediger plans to retire at the end of February. He is in his 39th year of employment at KJCK and currently serves as the morning air personality for 107.9 FM and 1420 KJCK AM. Over the years he has also served as both Operations Manager and General Manager.

The party was a time for hugs, handshakes, laughter, stories, good food and yes, a few tears. The party was coordinated by Avis Ediger and KJCK Account Executive Desiree Granstra.
