SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas teen in connection with a car-jacking.
Just after 8p.m. January 27, police responded to a carjacking call at Towne East Square, 7700 East Kellogg in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.
A 57-year-old woman at the scene told police that as she was leaving work and walking to her vehicle, a 13-year-old boy and another unknown suspect approached. The 13-year-old demanded her keys and battered her. The suspect took the keys and fled her 2003 Buick Park Avenue. The victim only had minor injuries, according to Davidson.
Investigators learned of the teen's involvement in the carjacking and located him Friday at a home in the 500 Block of North Ash in Wichita, according Davidson. Police located the missing vehicle Jan. 29 in the 4600 Block of South Brookhaven after a short vehicle pursuit with Sedgwick County Deputies.
The 13-year-old is being held on requested charges of aggravate robbery, according to Davidson.
