
Kansas City —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects who drove through barriers along the Chiefs Super Bowl celebration parade route.
Just after 8:12a.m. Wednesday, a vehicle broke through a parade barrier and all officers in the area were alerted, according to a media release from Kansas City police.
Clay County Sheriff's deputies assisting Kansas City police deployed stop sticks. The vehicle hit the stop sticks but continued southbound down the parade route, turned and Pershing heading for the crowd lined up for the rally.
Multiple police vehicles were prepared to stop the vehicle. Officers then used a tactical vehicle intervention (also knows as a PIT maneuver) to stop the vehicle on Pershing. Police took two suspects into custody, according to the release.
The driver is under investigation for impairment. Police found no weapons during a search of the vehicle and there is no indication of terrorist activity, according to the release. Police do not know the suspect's motive.

Kansas City — Police were involved in the pursuit of a vehicle that drove past barriers on Chiefs parade route Wednesday morning, according to a social media report from Kansas City Police.
Police took two suspects from the vehicle into custody. There were no injuries. Authorities reported no additional details except to resume the celebration.
