Blue Jays finish fifth and Lady Jays third in Centennial League Wrestling

Cameron Beasley at 138 pounds led the Junction City Blue Jays with a first place finish in the Centennial League Wresting Tournament in Emporia on Saturday.

According to coach Tyler Gonzalez Zach Petrusky finished second at 106 pounds while Isaiah Zinkan was second at 195 pounds. Patrick Foxworth captured third at 120 pounds, Zane Thornton third at 132, and CJ Neuman third at 152 pounds.

The Blue Jays finished fifth in the team competition with 102 points. Washburn Rural won the league title with 268 points.

In girls wrestling the Lady Jays were led by third place finishes by Zahirah Tanaka at 123 pounds, Brooke Swango 143, Aislynn Bailey 155 and Leilani Nuusila at 170 pounds.

Junction City finished third in the girls team competition with 42 points while Emporia captured first with 157 points.
