Prepare for possibility of slick roads

Posted Feb 12, 2020 1:00 PM

UPDATE:

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

As of mid-day Wednesday the snowfall continued in Geary County, but Emergency Management Director Garry Berges said the temperature was allowing the snow to somewhat melt on the roadways. That left the roads with slushy conditions. "We've got a cold front coming in later on this afternoon and evening which is going to make the wet grounds become very slick. Lot of it is going to freeze so people need to be careful, especially on bridges, overpasses, or just the regular roads themselves."

Berges added motorists just need to take extra time and be extra cautious.
