The 1970 boys Class 4A State Championship basketball team from Junction City High School will be honored at JCHS Friday night.
There will be a reception for team members at 6 p.m. in the high school library and then the team will be recognized during halftime of the boys basketball game against Topeka West. The reception is open to the public.
Team members in uniform for the Blue Jays during the state tournament were: Ron Anderson, Steve Brown, Bob Burney, Les Chaves, Allan Hart, Steve Heldstab, Lanard Reid, Steve Self, Doug Stark, Fred Starks, Mike Stithem, and Steve Wensel. The head coach was Ralph Rindt and he was assisted by Bob Smalley and Bill Hill.
Winter homecoming activities are also planned Friday night at JCHS.
