
JACKSON COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on drug charges after a traffic stop.
Just before 5:30p.m. Monday, a sheriff's deputy stopped a 1978 Nuwa recreation vehicle near 4th and Montana in Holton for an alleged traffic violation, according to sheriff Tim Morse.
Deputies located a significant amount of what is believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the RV.
They arrested the driver identified as Charles Lloyd Barrand, 40, of Topeka and booked him into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference with law enforcement, driving while revoked and no insurance.
