
McPHERSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities and school district officials are investigating a Kansas middle school teacher for alleged child sex crimes.
On Thursday, authorities in Saline County arrested 59-year-old Barry Adam Fritz on requested charges of Aggravated indecent liberties with a child, according to online jail records.
According to the USD 419 web site, Fritz worked as Canton-Galva elementary school physical education teacher. On Monday, the school board suspended him with pay pending further investigation, according to school principal Jim Struber.
On November 24, a police officer was called to Salina Regional Health Center for the report of a sexual offense with a person under the age of 14, according to Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus. It was reported that the incident, which included inappropriate sexual activity, occurred at a south Salina residence.
Between the time the incident was reported and the arrest, members of the Salina Police Department Detective Division were collecting information and evidence in the case, according to Hanus.
