Just before noon on March 1, police responded to a shooting call at a residence in the 2900 block of East Timberlane in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a 53-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to his body. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Through the investigation, it was learned that a disturbance occurred inside the home between the 53-year-old victim, a 26-year-old man, and a suspect identified as 21-year-old Deamonte Reese.

Reese and his 22-year-old girlfriend, the victim's neice, left the residence but returned a short time later. A second disturbance occurred between the 53-year-old, the 26-year-old and Reese. During this disturbance, Reese pulled out a handgun and fired one shot that struck the 53-year-old man, according to Davidson.
Reese then fled the scene with his girlfriend in a green Kia Sportage.
Police located Reese Thursday in the 8300 block of East Kellogg, and he was arrested without incident on a requested charge of aggravated battery and an outstanding warrant and a parolee violation through the Kansas Department of Corrections.
