SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital.

Just after 9 p.m.  Sunday, police responded to a shooting call at a home in the 2600 block of North Minnesota in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

At the scene, police located a 22-year-old woman who was several months pregnant and had a single gunshot wound to her body.

EMS transported her to an area hospital for medical treatment of a non-life-threating injury.  It does not appear the baby was injured, according to Davidson.

Investigators learned the victim and four other individuals were inside of the home when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots at the house.  One of the shots struck the woman causing her injury.  No one else was injured.

This was not a random incident, according to Davidson. Police have not reported an arrest or released details on possible suspects.
