44-year-old wounded in Kansas drive-by shooting

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting and searching for suspects.

Just before 9p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a walk-in shooting call at a Wichita hospital, according to officer Charley Davidson. 

A 19-year-old man told police he was driving in the area of Ross Parkway and Jewett in Wichita when a suspect fired multiple shots at the vehicle.

A 44-year-old passenger was shot one time in his body, according to Davidson. He was treated for a non-life threatening  injury and released. A 19-year-old passenger suffered a minor injury and the driver was not injured.

Police have not reported details on possible suspects or made an arrest.
