Postponements and cancellations

--The Cabela's King Kat qualifying tournament that was scheduled at Milford Lake has been moved to Oct. 10 from March 28.

--USD 475 is moving the e-learning for students in the district from April 1 back to April 6.

--Geary County Girls Softball Association has delayed the start of their summer registration.

--The Greater Geary Community Foundation has postponed their 2020  Match Day set for May 12th to a date later this year to be announced at a later date.

--The Junction City-Geary County Catbackers have cancelled their 2020 golf tourney that was set for June 13th and at this time they do not plan to re-schedule it.

--The Diabetes Support Group at Geary Community Hospital has cancelled their April 2 meeting. 

--Geary County Transfer Station will not be accepting customers who pay with cash or check. Charge account customers will still be able to dispose of MSW at the Transfer Station. The hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturday and Sunday. The scale house is closed to the public.

--Effective Wednesday the Geary County Office Building will be closed to the public. You will need to contact a department by telephone to handle your business, and there will be one entrance access where with an appointment an item can be dropped off at the door. Employees will be working inside the building.

--The Junction City Little Theater production of Mama Mia has been postponed.

-- To protect the health and safety of both patrons and staff, the Dorothy Bramlage Pubic library is closed.  Our hope is to re-open on Sunday, April 5 to at least limited service as conditions allow.  Please visit the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library facebook page for updates.  Questions can be referred to [email protected].   

--The Junction City Police Department announces the cancellation of the Chief’s Advisory Council Program through the month of April. The following meetings have been cancelled:

April 6 City Municipal Building 7:00 PM

April 13 12th St Community Center 7:00 PM

April 20 Highland Baptist Church 7:00 PM

April 27 Church of the Nazarene 7:00 PM

--Manhattan Town Center closing most of its operations temporarily until at least April 4.

-- Due to COVID-19, the Geary County Extension Office will be closed to walk-in visitors between March 23rd and April 6th.  Extension staff are still working and committed to continuing to provide services to our clientele through phone and email.  Call 785-238-4161 for further assistance or if you know the staff members email address you can contact them via email.

--Chapman Senior Center has temporarily cancelled activities. Meals will be delivered and can be picked up at the center.

--Geary County Public Works and Noxious Weed Departments are closed until further notice. Staff will continue to provide services.

--Geary Community Hospital Trustees monthly meeting scheduled on Tuesday has been canceled by Hospital Board Chair Theresa Bramlage

--Junction City Municipal Court lobby will close on Monday until April 5.

--Geary County Office Building is open by appointment only

--Junction  City Municipal Building is closed, but staff are continuing to work.

--Junction City Fire Department  has suspended public service activities including station tours, public education, home smoke alarm installation and general public information meetings.

--Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council breakfasts for March and April have been cancelled.
