Sheriff: Kan. felon was driving 93 mph on I-70 with drugs

SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a stop on Interstate 70 Monday night.

Just after 10 p.m. Monday, a deputy stopped a 2010 Ford Explorer just west of Solomon for traveling at 93 mph in a 75 mph zone, according Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan.

Upon making contact with the driver, Terrence Szczepaniak, 25, of Salina, the deputy noticed a small amount of marijuana in the console of the SUV.

During a search of the vehicle, the deputy reported finding 20 grams of marijuana, 55 grams of methamphetamine and a drug pipe.

The deputy arrested Szczepaniak on suspicion of  speeding, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, no tax stamp, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Soldan.
