
SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a home burglary and have made an arrest.
Just after 10a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a possible burglary of a vacant home in the 3100 block of SE 45th Street, according to deputy Shayna Anderson.
Deputies discovered evidence that indicated forced entry was made and believed that suspects were possibly still inside the residence.
A sheriff's K9 handler made announcements into the residence which resulted in the suspect identified as Luke A. Bennett, 47, Topeka surrendering without incident.
Deputies booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on reqyested charges of burglary, theft, criminal damage and violation of the governor's executive order.
