Kan. man under investigation for child sex crimes

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a child sex crime and have made an arrest.

Following an investigation by the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Fugitive Warrants Unit, deputes made a traffic stop Thursday near the 3400 block of SW Timberlake Lane and arrested  Daniel F. Luetje, 46, of Topeka, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.

Luetje was transported to the Law Enforcement Center for further questioning and then transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include 3 counts of rape and aggravated criminal sodomy with a victim under the age of 14.

The alleged incidents involved in this case occurred in the northern part of Shawnee County over a 6 year span from 2006 thru 2011, according to Stallbaumer.
