SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping and have made an arrest.

Just before 4p.m. Saturday police responded to an attempted abduction call at a home in the 2500 block of South Roosevelt in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, officers contacted a 28-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter.

The investigation revealed the girl was walking alone in the area of 31st and Clifton when a suspect identified as 28-year Victor Lara-Aguilera approached her on foot and said she was coming with him.

Lara-Aguilera then grabbed her arm and started to pull her with him, according to Davidson.  The girl screamed loudly, pulled away from Lara-Aguilera, and ran to her grandmother's house.  The girl notified her mother of what occurred, and the police were called.

Officers obtained a description of Lara-Aguilera from the girl, and he was located in the 2900 block of South Hillside in Wichita and arrested without further incident.

He is being held on requested charges of attempted kidnapping and possession of methamphetamine, according to Davidson.
