Update: Police investigate toddler's drowning at Kan. home

COWLEY COUNTY— Authorities are investigating a possible drowning that occurred late Thursday afternoon in southeast Arkansas City.

Just after 5p.m., the Arkansas City Police and Fire-EMS departments were dispatched to a possible drowning in the 800 block of South Boyer Road, according to police.

They arrived to find CPR was being administered to an 18-month-old boy and EMS personnel took over the lifesaving efforts. The child was transported by ambulance to South Central Kansas Medical Center, where he later was pronounced deceased. 

Authorities released no additional details Friday afternoon.
