JC Strong Benefit Run is the title of a 5K / 10K run being planned for the 4th of July in Junction City. The traditional Freedom Run is not occurring this year, but there now plans for theis new event to benefit #NabusStrong.

JC Strong Benefit Run will support local resident Lisa Nabus in her battle against cancer and also serve as a platform for the community to unite and support other battles. The benefit run will help raise funds for Nabus' medical bills and serve as an inspiration for all local cancer warriors and their families.

Manhattan Running Company, Junction City Manager Allen Dinkel, Police Chief John Lamb, Fire Chief Terry Johnson and Sheriff Dan Jackson plus friends and co-workers of Nabus are supportive of the event and are working to make it occur.

NabusStrong Committee member Terrah Stroda said the group has worked to do what Lisa asked. "This is a Benefit Run in her honor, that will be a resounding moment for our town as we show our "JC Strong." Stroda added, This run is for every warrior because we will win TOGETHER."

The committee is hopeful the event will unite the town including cancer fighters, health care workers, business owners, children, parents, schools and social injustice movement with special acknowledgement to Lisa's current battle and others who identify themselves as warriors this year.
