
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating the unlawful assembly following a protest march that occurred at 21st and Arkansas in Wichita on Monday and have made an arrest.
Henry Parker, 28, Wichita, is in custody on requested charges of two counts of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, 20 counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, one count of discharge a firearm at an occupied vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm and outstanding warrants, according to officer Charley Davidson.
According to police, Parker fired multiple shots at responding officers, and one officer’s helmet was struck by bullet pieces that had ricocheted near the officers. A second officer's helmet is believed to have been grazed by a bullet.

Through witness interviews, technology, and community tips, Parker was identified in being involved with the shooting. On Thursday, Parker was located in the 3800 block of West 21st, and he was arrested without incident.
Additionally, Parker has previously been arrested and convicted on charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, theft, criminal possession of a firearm on school property, aggravated weapons violations, felon in possession of a firearm, and criminal threats.
