Police arrest Kansas felon during Barton Co. drug investigation

BARTON COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges following a drug bust.

Just before 4p.m. Thursday, the Great Bend Police Department, with the assistance of Ellinwood Police Department and the Barton County Sheriff's Office, executed a burglary and narcotics search warrant at a residence located at 205 N. Wilhelm Street in Ellinwood as part of an ongoing burglary and narcotics investigation, according to a media release.

During the execution of the search warrant, resident Alicia D. Hoeffner, 39, was located inside the residence.

During a thorough search of the residence, methamphetamine, marijuana and items of illegal drug paraphernalia were located.

Hoeffner was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hoeffner was transported to the Barton County Detention Center and booked in lieu of bond.
