SEDGWICK COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal accident and have identified the victim as 47-year-old Tracy Drake of Wichita.
Just before 9:20 p.m., Sunday, police responded to a single-vehicle injury accident in the 1800 block of S. Meridian in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.
Upon arrival, officers located a 53-year-old man who was seriously injured and Drake, who was critically injured. They were transported to a local hospital where Drake died.
The investigation revealed that the 53-year-old was driving a Yamaha motorcycle with Drake as a passenger. The motorcycle became unstable, and the driver lost control of the motorcycle.
The 53-year-old is no longer hospitalized, according to Davidson.
They were not wearing helmets, according to Davidson.
This accident is the 10th fatal accident of the year in Wichita and the fourth involving a motorcycle.
