2 Kansas men dead after motorcycle crash

NEOSHO COUNTY — Two people died in an accident just after 12:30a.m. Saturday in Neosho County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Ronald Bigpond, 52, Chanute, was eastbound in the 2400 Block of 200th Road just east of Chanute.

The motorcycle traveled  off the roadway to the left, continued across the railroad tracks and over turned ejecting the driver and a passenger.

 Bigpond and  Richard  Standridge, 47, Chanute, were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Countryside Funeral Home. They were not wearing helmets, according to the KHP.
